Grumble and Porn

Last night I went to a party and there was a girl who was quite rude to me. She had spray-tanned skin, brittle peroxide blond hair with black roots, too much mascara and was wearing an ugly blue dress that clashed with her orange complexion. As if I would even be interested. Plus she was at the lamest party in the world, lowlights of which included "Mr Brightside" twice in half an hour, a big gay Bohemian Rhapsody circle jerk, and the twat dj lip syncing to Bon Jovi. Maybe I shouldn't hold it against her as I was there as well - but I wouldn't have been if I'd known, and I got the impression she was a regular. At least I had some good friends with me to keep me entertained, and as we all felt the same way about the evening we got to have a good moan about it on the way back to their flat.

I really want to go to see a film. I haven't been once since arriving in London, and it's doing my head in a bit. It costs £9 to go here though and I don't live anywhere near a cinema.

In lieu of that, here's my youtube highlights for the week:

Hey Matt,

Naivete Scene is some good reading. It'll be a good way to keep tabs on you. Keep it up.

That Snoop Dogg video is fire! You just made my week. Great song as well. That line about 'exchanging love faces' is classic ...

I've been reading a lot of sci-fi/horror literature lately. Become a little obsessed with Lovecraft etc ... Not sure quite what prompted it. I read Dune (is the Lynch movie any good?), and am about to finish Battlefield Earth ... I think i'll read Asimov's Foundation series, and then that will be that ... Gibbo keeps trying to get me to read fantasy novels, but I am definitely not going there.

Sorry to hear about your woman problems ... Get well soon.

Hey James. That classic line you mentioned is a bit of a rip from Nate Doggs rap on "F**k you* off The Chronic 2001, you know the bit where he says "you got my number/maybe we can touch bases/hook up somewhere and exchange some f**k faces". (I'm not averse to cursing - I just don't want to get my blog closed down). Anyway, I don't really know much about sci-fi lit. I'm more into the movies. I couldn't really get into Dune although lots of people love it, but Battlefield Earth is one of the most entertaining films I've ever seen, although probably not in the way it was intended to be. Bridget wrote an article in the Sneaks zine about smashing patriachy through sci-fi. You should read that, you can download it from thesneaks.co.nz plus there's an article I wrote about foxes but I used a pen-name because I was too shamed out about how shit it is.

Regards

Dude Ocelot
